"The prevalent fear of poverty among the educated classes is the worst moral disease from which our civilization suffers."
--William James

How is it that people ministering to the poor can choose to live in middle-class houses with running water? How can you choose to not live among the people that you are called to?
How is this truly being Jesus?

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning...The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."--John 1:1, 14

Jesus dwelt with us...we, who are filthy, lying, lazy sinners. We have nothing compared to the glory of God, but Jesus gave all of that up. He didn't even go live with the religious leaders, He lived with the most simple of people, the poorest of people. Shouldn't the Gospel speak to us about the heart of Jesus? If nothing else, it shows us how He spent His time here, and we need to pay attention to that. We have no excuse, especially not here. What are we going to do?
